Hi! I’m Casey. I’m glad you’re here.
First, know this: you are worthy of being heard, and deserving of healing.
In our sessions together, we will engage your story with both compassion and curiosity — so that we may place your past & present in a new context and help you begin to wade into even the most dark & painful parts. In doing so, we will identify the connecting thread that moves through your life and create a safe space for you to become “unstuck.” It is my sincere hope that you will walk away from our time together feeling seen, known, and more connected to your True Self.
There are some core beliefs that inform my work, which may help to paint a picture of what you can expect during our time together:
I believe that the capacity for healing is within you — In our sessions, we will take a client-centered approach, in which we will work collaboratively through your journey.
I believe that our past informs our present — In our sessions, we will dive into the connection between the two.
I believe our emotions are important — In our sessions, we will likely work to listen to and name our feelings, as well as learn regulation skills.
I believe our bodies hold wisdom — In our sessions, we may work to notice physical sensations and will likely utilize breathing or movement in doing so.
I know how hard it can be to find a therapist you trust, and would consider it an immense privilege to walk with you on your journey. If you believe we could be a good match, I encourage you to reach out to schedule a brief introductory conversation.
The Nitty Gritty
I work with adults and adolescents navigating a range of personal experiences including maternal mental health, depression, anxiety, family of origin & attachment wounds, trauma, spiritual issues & abuse, life transitions, and adjusting to parenthood.
My therapeutic approach is personalized to the individual client’s needs and goals. I draw from theories and modalities such as narrative, attachment, mindfulness, and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy). I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and I find this to be a useful modality for trauma. I have advanced training in Perinatal Mental Health.
Where to find me
I’ve set up shop at a group private practice called Solace Counseling. We are located in the Thornton Park neighborhood of Downtown Orlando. I see clients in-person or virtually.
Financials
Solace Counseling does not accept insurance and is self pay only. Many clients are able to submit invoices for reimbursement under their out of network benefits. Sliding scale and partial scholarships may be available.
